Adventure Activities

Group Outdoor Pursuit Courses
Integrated into each course, no matter what the duration, is a simple progressive theme; to learn, to understand, to feel safe and to enjoy. Whatever your chosen activity, a day out with our instructors will be exciting and memorable. We enjoy a reputation for reliability, professionalism, performance and value. Adventure based learning is part of "learning outside the classroom" in UK and international schools. The driving force behind this has been manifestos and education papers written in the UK, New Zealand, America and Canada. The benefits of getting children into the outdoors and learning and experiencing together from new challenges is well documented.

A combination of activities can be organised to tailor make a bespoke multi-activity course. This can include all our Mountain Sports described below as well as Orienteering, River Crossing, Sea Level Traversing, Mountain Camping, Initiative Tasks, Canoeing and Kayaking. All the services can be provided throughout the UK at a venue best suited to you. We can arrange transport and accommodation and other excursions within the course if required. By the venue being your choice you can reduce the travelling time and costs as necessary. We can either design the whole timetable or just provide the activities/instruction within an already proven schedule. Please contact us for further details, sample course timetables, slide presentations and references.

For the more experienced we lead classic scrambles such as Sharp edge in the Lake District and Crib Goch and Jammed Boulder Gully in Snowdonia. Maximum ratio 1:6

Gorge Descents, Canyoning and Ghyll Scrambling
Be prepared to get wet! Using the many gorges and ghylls found in the U.K., we can either ascend or descend using easy routes for groups where no more than a helmet and waterproofs are worn; to a more adventurous outing when the use of wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets and abseiling equipment can make for an excellent activity. Plunge pool, jumps, waterfall abseils, scrambling and tyrolean traverses are some of the activities to wet your appetite.

We can help with preparation, training and planning for these challenges. We can also oraginise a 3 Peaks Event for your company or school. Starting from Glen Nevis Youth Hostel at midday the teams make their way up Ben Nevis then after a quick refuel travel to Wasdale/Seathwaite to ascend Scafell during the night before setting off from Pen Y Pass Youth Hostel in Snowdonia to ascend Snowdon and descend back to Pen Y Pass before midday the next day. An exciting challenge but not to be undertaken without the correct planning and experience required for the 3 highest of our peaks.
